Sligo is an ideal location for mountain climbing and walking. The Knocknarea Mountain (Cnoc na Rí) is situated 4 miles west of Sligo Town and dominates the skyline of the town. Doorly Park consists of a series of ponds and drier areas planted with oak, scots pine and a number of other species of tree. The park is 15 mins walk from Sligo town.
